The number 1 is symbolic of initiative, assertiveness, leadership, and go-getter energy. 1 energy is bold and outgoing. It is typically viewed as masculine, although this is not absolute.

The number 2 represents collaboration, cooperation, partnership, and a willingness to support others. It is typically viewed as feminine, although this is not absolute.

The number 3 represents the energy of creation, creative prowess, and creativity. Similar to how children are naturally. Note all of the "c"s. The letter "c" is also 3 in Pythagorean numerology (see the Pythagorean Chart). 1 initiative/masculine + 2 collaboration/feminine = 3 creation.

The number 4 represents fairness and hard work. The Pythagorean's associated this number with justice. In fact, we still have expressions "square meal" or a "square deal" because of this association and because 4 is the first square number. "All sides equal"
